Veterinary Teams and Missing-Cat Recovery: A Guide
· 5 min read
Explore practical ways veterinary teams can help missing-cat recovery, from documenting possible matches to microchip scans and respectful notice sharing.
Veterinarians are on the front lines of pet recovery. They see hundreds of animals each week and are often the first professionals to encounter a found pet. Here's how vets help reunite pets with owners — and how you can help us reach them.
The Microchip Connection
All three of our missing cats — RJ, Lisana, and Daisy — are microchipped. Any veterinary clinic can scan for microchips in minutes. If one of our cats is brought into a clinic, the microchip scan will immediately identify them as belonging to a registered ESA owner.
Important note to vet staff: If someone presents one of these cats and claims to be the owner, please verify the microchip. The registered owner's contact information is on file. Please call +1 (541) 390-2114 immediately.
What Veterinary Clinics Can Do
- Post our flyer — a physical flyer at the front desk is seen by every client
- Brief your team — make sure every staff member knows what RJ, Lisana, and Daisy look like
- Scan every cat that comes in — when an "owner unknown" or "found cat" comes in, always scan for microchips
